Orizonturi Teologice/Theological Horizons

“Orizonturi Teologice/Theological Horizons” is an open access journal dedicated to disseminating knowledge regarding Orthodox theology, ecumenical dialogue, and religious studies to a broader audience, bringing academic theological discourse closer to the public and facilitating the transfer of knowledge to interested specialists, researchers, and society at large.

The journal “Orizonturi Teologice/Theological Horizons” employs a dual approach, integrating analytical and synthetic methods, to examine fundamental and specific issues pertaining to the theorization, conceptualization, and operationalization of concepts within its primary areas of focus.

The journal “Orizonturi Teologice/Theological Horizons” is published within the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, “Episcop Dr. Vasile Coman”, University of Oradea, Romania.

This approach is intended to establish a framework for research design in the specific areas targeted and to engage researchers, doctoral students, master's students, and undergraduates in the development of research teams that promote academic knowledge and facilitate the transfer of knowledge to interested specialists and society at large.

The fundamental areas targeted by the Theological Horizons journal are as follows:

1. Empirical studies involving data obtained from research projects and applied methodology using the scientific method (correlational, meta-analytical, case studies, etc.)
2. Reviews of books and articles that have had a major impact in the field of theology
3. Traditional disciplines of theological education
4. Orthodox theological perspective and ecumenical dialogue
5. Inter-confessional and interdisciplinary approaches to religious studies
“Orizonturi Teologice/Theological Horizons” is a biannual, open access, peer-reviewed academic journal. The journal proposes an Orthodox theological perspective but is simultaneously open to dialogue, housing articles from other confessional dimensions. The first issue of the journal appears until the 1st of June of each year, and the second issue appears until the 30th of November of the year. The submission of manuscripts is made only via online to the editorial board.

The papers that do not respect the publishing conditions and are not integrated in the theme of the journal will be rejected by the Editorial Board. In order to be accepted for publication, each article must obtain the consent of two of the journal’s scientific referents. The authors are entirely responsible for the content of their papers.

The contributors are required to follow the authors guidelines provided on the journal’s website. The paper acceptance is conditional on strict compliance with the editing conditions, including references.
The journal is indexed in the following databases: ERIH+ and CEEOL.
